Juliette Petit is studying with Politics with Economics at the University of Bath
Why have you chosen this particular course?
I chose it because I like the link between politics and economics. Last year I was studying both subjects at Kings and I really enjoyed linking both together, it’s really interesting.
What are some of the ways that Kings helped you get to this university?
I think Kings was able to help me in lots of ways. For example, in my course I need to write a lot of essays, and last year I had many assessments in Politics and Economics and Geography, and that helped me a lot. I know how to write an essay in an English style, and how to reference things. I see other international students struggle a bit with that, but for me it’s easier thanks to Kings.
What’s it like being a student from Belgium being at university in the UK?
It’s amazing, I really enjoy it. We are working a lot, but it’s also a lot of fun. I’ve learnt so much at university, you’re living away from home (last year as well) but this year it’s not in a host family so it’s quite different. I really enjoy it.
What are your plans for after university?
In my course I have a placement, and it depends whether I receive a job offer after this placement. Maybe a Masters, and after I would like to travel before working, I don’t know though, my subject is really broad, so I can do whatever I want. I think it will depend on my placement really.
