This course combines English with the study of film, including film history, script writing, acting and production.
Students learn practical filmmaking skills and have access to a fully-equipped Apple Mac video editing suite, including Final Cut Pro and After Effects Software.
It also visits to local iconic film locations, studios, and other industry related venues. All this right in the heart of Hollywood — the film capital of the world.
Note: Kings LA offers transfer agreements with both LA Film School and New York Film Academy.
The 28 hours of this course comprise 20 film-based English language lessons aimed at developing key language skills, and 8 hours dedicated to practical film-making. See below a breakdown of subjects covered.
Students are also expected to spend a minimum of 4 hours per week on practical course-related work.
From the 1920s to the present day
Towards the end of the course you will apply your new skills and creative ideas to making a short film or documentary, managing the project from start to finish. The best film will be given an award at a special awards ceremony.
